Tours through the Hoover Dam and Power Plant started in 1937. Today, close to 1 million visitors per year take the tour and millions more drive across the dam. The dam is located 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas on US Highway 93 at the Nevada-Arizona border. The Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers tours of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the United States.

Take a relaxing break from the Las Vegas nightlife to explore the Springs Preserve, once home to ancient tribes and the resting place for weary Spanish explorers. Learn about the history of the Las Vegas Valley as well as methods to maintain a sustainable lifestyle in the desert. Admission is $18.95 for adults, $17.05 for seniors 65+ and students 18+, $10.95 for children ages 5-17. Children 4 and under are free. The preserve is open from 10am to 4pm daily. Trails close at dusk or 6pm (whichever comes first). The Preserve is located between US 95 and Alta Drive in Las Vegas.

Bottlenose dolphins and the world's most exotic animals have taken up residence at the Mirage.
Admission starts at $19.95 for adults, $14.95 for children ages 4-12, children 3 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. The habitat is open 11am to 530pm weekdays, 10am to 530pm weekends. Last admissin is at 430pm.

An adventure at Mandalay Bay that will get you up close and personal with some of the most dangerous and exotic animals in the world. Thousands of water fountains create a fantastic show in front of the hotel, set to music and lights. Show times are Monday through Friday, 3pm-7pm; every half hour and 7pm-12am; every 15 minutes.
